Jon Bon Jovi is teaming up with New Jersey officials to build new affordable housing in the state's largest city, Newark.Jovi's Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation is providing $1 million toward construction of a $15 million, 51-unit building for homeless people with special needs, such as AIDS patients. Bon Jovi was joined at Yesterday by Gov. Jon Corzine, Newark Mayor Cory Booker and fashion designer Kenneth Cole and his wife, Maria Cuomo Cole, who runs Help USA, the nonprofit helping to build the units.
Similarly it was recently reported that basket ball great Shaquille O’Neal is embarking on the similar project in the same city.
