U2 front-act Bono recently took some time off from saving the world to party it up in the South of France, and by the looks of several photos showing him canoodling with a pair of 19-year-olds, he had a pretty darn good time. In the photos, the 48-year-old rock icon and his pal Simon Carmody are seen enjoying some quality time with fashion student Andrea Feick and friend Hanna Emerson at a beach front bar in sunny St. Tropez.

He's a friend of mine and that's pretty much it," she told the Daily Mail. LL Cool J Dishes Janet Jackson's Tour

In another setback on her "Rock Witchu" tour, Janet Jackson has lost her opening act: LL Cool J. The rapper's publicity firm announced yesterday that he has dropped out as the headliner for Jackson because of unnamed scheduling conflicts.

It's the latest headache for Jackson's tour, her first North American outing in seven years. The 42-year-old singer was forced to cancel a string of earlier concerts because of a bout of migraine-associated vertigo. She recently resumed while being treated for the illness, which is characterized by dizziness, imbalance and other symptoms. Jackson’s upcoming shows are Today in Auburn Hills, Mich., and Saturday in New York. She is expected to announce a replacement and more dates.

Coach Isaiah Thomas and Family; Who Is Telling The Truth

Authorities were called to the home of former New York Knicks coach Isaiah Thomas, where police said a 47-year-old man was taken to the hospital and treated for an accidental overdose of sleeping pills on Friday. When reached on his cell phone the 47-year-old Thomas told the New York Post he had not been treated for a sleeping pill overdose and that it was his 17-year-old daughter Lauren who had a medical issue. It "wasn't an overdose," he told the newspaper. "My daughter is very down right now. None of us are OK."

Harrison Police Chief David Hall said: "we're classifying it as an accidental overdose of prescription sleeping pills," Hall said. "I'm not going to confirm or deny that it was Isaiah Thomas. It was an individual at his home." Hall told The Daily News that the man took about 10 Lunesta sleeping pills. "He was unconscious, but breathing on his own." And Thomas' 20-year-old son Joshua also said it was his sister, not his father, who required treatment. "He's fine," the Indiana University student told the Daily News. "Reports of sleeping pills are false."

The new terrorism thriller "Body of Lies" failed to take the top spot at the weekend box office in North America, an apparent victim of moviegoers' preference for escapist fare amid global financial turmoil. The Warner Bros. film, starring Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio as CIA agents battling a terrorist organization in the Middle East, had to settle for the No. 3 slot with $13.1 million, according to studio estimates issued on Sunday.

The Walt Disney Co family comedy "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" logged a second weekend at No. 1 with $17.5 million, taking its 10-day haul to $52.5 million. The low-budget zombie horror "Quarantine" opened at No. 2 with $14.2 million. The $12 million film was released by Screen Gems, a unit of Sony Corp.

NBA star Magic Johnson Accused of faking AIDS.

A Minneapolis radio DJs, KTLK's Chris Baker and Langdon Perry made the remarks during Baker's conservative talk show said that basketball great, Magic Johnson is faking his AIDs for sympathy. According to a partial transcript and audio clip posted on a media watchdog site, mediamatters.org, the remarks came after a caller asserted that health care isn't a basic right. Perry responded by asking about treatable diseases that a person can live with for a long time "if you just get some basic drugs."

Mindy McCready Returns To Jail

Mindy McCready will voluntarily surrender to authorities Tuesday to serve 60 days in a Tennessee jail for a probation violation, her rep tells People. The country singer, 32, was arrested for violating her probation for prescription drug fraud in June. "I am working very hard to put all of this behind me as quickly as possible so I can get back to what I like to do most: sing, write songs, and entertain," said McCready in a statement Monday morning.

The troubled singer had entered rehab July 16 for undisclosed reasons and she was previously jailed in 2007 after violating probation on a 2004 drug arrest. McCready also said in the statement: "I would like to thank my fans for their unwavering support as I continue to work on my recovery and to regain custody of my precious son, Zander."

Beenie Man Cleared Of Tax Invasion

A Jamaican judge has cleared Grammy-winning musician Beenie Man of tax-evasion charges, saying the government never informed him of his legal rights. Jamaican authorities have said the singer and rapper owed nearly US$1 million in overdue taxes.

But Judge Owen Parking threw out the case Tuesday; ruling evidence showed the entertainer was not informed of his rights when auditors issued their assessment last year. The singer's real name is Anthony Moses Davis. The Kingston native has been one of the biggest names in dancehall music for a decade. In 2001, he won a Grammy for his album "Art and Life."

Oprah Winfrey's Mother Fights Back

Oprah Winfrey's mother says she shouldn't have to pay a nearly $156,000 debt to a high-end fashion store because store officials shouldn't have extended credit to her, told AP. Valentina Inc. alleges that Vernita Lee of Milwaukee racked up $155,547 in purchases and interest as of July 1. The company sued, saying Lee fell behind in minimum monthly payments of $2,000.

Lee now filed a counterclaim contending that Valentina took advantage of her "lack of knowledge, ability or capacity" when creating her credit account. Court papers say Lee resolved a 2002 case with the company over a $175,000 bill. The resolution prohibited Valentina from extending further credit to her.
