West Got Out Of Jail After Arrest

Singer/rap Kanye west has made bail after he and one of his bodyguards were arrested Yesterday at Los Angeles International Airport after an altercation with paparazzi in which the rapper allegedly smashed a $10,000 camera on the floor. E! reports the rap star has posted $20,000 bail and had a court date set for October 2nd. Kanye was held for felony vandalism charge.

The incident happened before West and his bodyguard passed a security checkpoint at an airport terminal that houses American Airlines. The pair were scheduled to board a flight to Honolulu, Hawaii. The arrest was first reported by TMZ, which posted video showing a man in a gray hooded sweatshirt, identified by the celebrity gossip site as West. The man throws a camera to the ground. Another man in a red jacket grabs the shooter holding the video camera. The next frames show security intervening. TMZ reported that it was its videographer who was attacked.

West closed the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, which was held at Paramount Studios lot in Hollywood. The singer has a history of flaring his temper. After not winning any awards at the VMAs in 2007 despite several nominations, West declared he would never return to MTV and yelling at reporters. The year before, he crashed the stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards and unleashed an expletive-filled tirade after his video "Touch The Sky" failed to win an award.

All White Jury For O.J.

The prosecutors revealed in court yesterday that no blacks were on the jury picked for O.J. Simpson try which begins on Monday. Defense attorneys had argued the prosecutors were deliberately trying to exclude blacks, but Judge Jackie Glass (inset photo) denied their challenges - in the case against Simpson and a co-defendant, Clarence Stewart. Prosecutors say Simpson and five other men stormed into a Las Vegas hotel room on September 13, 2007 to recover sports memorabilia that Simpson said belonged to him. Prosecutors say at least two men with Simpson had guns as they robbed a pair of sports memorabilia dealers.

If convicted on all counts, Simpson faces a possible sentence of life in prison. He has pleaded not guilty and has told CNN he was trying to get his property back. Four of five Simpson's original co-defendants have struck deals with the prosecution to testify against Simpson. One testified in a pre-trial hearing that "O.J. Simpson wanted me to have a weapon." Another testified that Simpson "wanted me to help him acquire some guns.” An attorney for Simpson, Yale Galanter, has disputed that."O.J. Simpson did not know that there were guns in that room."

Plea discussions hit a snag when Follieri - who is jailed in lieu of $21 million bail - balked at the idea of doing his sentence in an American prison, a source said. "He was demanding to serve his time in Italy, and [prosecutors] said, 'You're out of your mind.' "

According to BBC: Kenyan police have stepped up security in the village of US presidential candidate Barack Obama's grandmother, after a break-in at her home. The police believe the thieves were trying to steal a solar panel from Sarah Hussein Obama's tin roof.Four people have been arrested and patrols increased around Alego-Kogello village, 60km (37 miles) from Kisumu. The Illinois senator is a local hero in his father's homeland, where a local beer has been named after him. Correspondents say bottles of Senator are now referred to as "Obama" in honour of the Democratic party presidential hopeful. The robbery occurred on Wednesday night, when thieves broke down the kitchen door.

The CD, out Nov. 11, will feature two new songs as well as rerecorded versions of two other hits, "Genie in a Bottle" and "Beautiful."

Lee said she doesn't feel she owes them the money. But six years ago, John Kowske had to take Lee to court in Milwaukee, where she lives, after she failed to pay him the $4,304.90 she owed him, according to papers posted on webofdeception.com. "Vernita was a co-signer on a loan for her daughter Pat," a source tells us. "Sadly, Pat died of a drug overdose." A judge ordered Lee to pay the debt, according to the papers.

Alec Baldwin Keeps His Foot In His Mouth

Alec Baldwin's mouth continues to get him into trouble. For the last few days, the volatile "30 Rock" actor has been trading barbs with Greg Garcia, the creator of "My Name Is Earl." It all started with the New Yorker's epic profile of Baldwin. In the piece, he discussed what he deemed NBC's failure to promote the terrific Tina Fey-helmed sitcom and claimed the network has "gone out of their way to wring the last drops out of 'My Name Is Earl' and 'Scrubs.' Those shows are done! They're cooked! Yet they do a one-hour episode of 'Earl.'"

That didn't sit well with Garcia, who told Defamer.com that Baldwin "sounds like a psychotic narcissist" and pointed out that the reason why NBC "occasionally puts on an hour-long episode of 'Earl' is because an hour of 'Earl' gets better ratings than an 'Earl' followed by a '30 Rock.' It's called math, stupid." Over to you, Alec: "My apologies to the cast and crews of 'My Name Is Earl' and 'Scrubs,'" he wrote on the Huffington Post. "In my frustration with NBC's reprehensible promotion of '30 Rock,' I took an unfortunate swipe at both of those shows and that was not cool." 

Unable to leave it there, Baldwin adds, "But, for Earl's creator, Greg Garcia, who referred to me as a 'psychotic,' I have only one question. Why are you Scientologists always rendering these medical opinions you aren't qualified to give?" 
Small problem with that argument: While "Earl" stars Jason Lee and Ethan Suplee are L. Ron Hubbard boosters, Garcia is not."Alec, I can't tell you how happy I am to once again point out that you are an idiot," he responds to Gawker.com. "I'm unable to answer your question about Scientologists because, although I respect anyone's right to their own beliefs, I am not currently, nor have I ever been, a Scientologist."

Garcia then suggests that Baldwin's future salvos might include tossing out "something witty about me creating the show 'Yes, Dear' or just simply a joke about the fact that I'm bald. Both true. As far as you being psychotic, anyone who thinks NBC wouldn't do everything they could to promote a great show like '30 Rock,' which they own, over a show like 'My Name is Earl,' which they don't, is a tad nutty."

O J Simpson Gets Support From The Judge as a Juror dismissed

As the jury selection begins. OJ Simpson was back in the dock yesterday, nearly 13 years after he was sensationally acquitted of murdering his wife. But it could take at least a week to select a jury that is not biased by the 61-year-old American Football star’s notoriety.

 However a prospective juror in tore into the disgraced O.J. bluntly declaring: "I felt he got away with murder!" Glaring directly at Simpson, the unidentified woman told prosecutors she believed O.J. is a self-absorbed celebrity who killed his ex-wife and her friend. "He chose to put himself in the public eye," she said. "He should be a little more self-conscious of his actions."

Asked if she could brush off O.J.'s past in judging the current case, the woman snapped: "I think as far as the first trial, I felt he got away with murder!" The woman was eventually dismissed for bias. Then the district Judge Jackie Glass told the court: “What happened then, happened then. “If you think you are going to punish Mr Simpson for what happened in 1995, this is not the case for you.” Simpson faces a life sentence if he is convicted of robbing two sports memorabilia collectors at gunpoint in a Las Vegas Hotel last September.

Obviously, the Goldman family and the prosecutors would not be happy with this.
