Promoter Suge Knight Canned for domestic Violence

Police arrested the hip hop mogul. The woman was not stabbed but she was treated at a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening. Police say Knight had the drugs Ecstasy and hydrocodone when he was arrested.

New Judge for American Idol

According to NYPost, American Idol" will add top-selling, Grammy- nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi to its notorious panel of judges beginning next year, the show announced yesterday. "I'm gonna be a straight shooter, say it like I see it and try to help the contestants," said DioGuardi, 37, a native of New Rochelle. "I just plan on being honest and offering constructive criticism. I'll have my unique style."

DioGuardi, who attended Duke University before penning tunes for the likes of Celine Dion and Christina Aguilera, joins name- dropping Randy Jackson, loopy Paula Abdul and caustic Simon "Mr. Nasty" Cowell. Although well known in the music industry, having won BMI's 2006 Pop Song writer of the Year award and sold more than 300 million records, DioGuardi is still a relative unknown to the average "Idol" viewer.

"When I got the call, I thought they were calling the wrong person," DioGuardi said. "Next thing I know, I was on a plane to New York." The addition of DioGuardi raises the possibility of a 2-2 split - prompting a "Simon says" tiebreaker rule: Cowell's vote will carry the day.

AP reports that Dr. Dre's 20-year-old son (inset with Paris Hilton) has died. "Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. aka (Young Doc)" publicist Lori Earl said in a statement.

Young Jr., who was named after his father, was found dead by his mother at their home in suburban Woodland Hills, county coroner's Lt. John Kades said. An autopsy was performed, but the cause of death wasn't likely to be determined for eight weeks while toxicology tests are done, Kades said.

A One-legged Hooker Killed Customer

According to SMH, A one-legged hooker was killed in Brooklyn after a john hit her over the head, causing her to fall backwards out of her wheelchair and slam her skull against the wall, cops said yesterday.

Elizabeth Acevedo, 38, was found lying unconscious on the floor of a hallway on the 13th floor of a building in the Wyckoff Gardens houses in Boerum Hill on Thursday morning. The handicapped hooker, who lived in the building, was taken to Long Island College Hospital, where she died yesterday morning after being removed from life support, police said. Acevedo - who lost her leg in a train accident - had a rap sheet with 67 arrests for prostitution and drug charges. She wore a prosthetic leg, but also used a wheelchair. Investigators believe she had been servicing a client in the hallway who then hit her on the head with a heavy object. Police were still looking for a suspect.

Comedian Andy Dick won't face Sex Charge

AP reports that Prosecutors say they won't charge Andy Dick with sexual battery stemming from his arrest last month. The "News Radio" actor with a reputation for crude public behavior is still scheduled to face a judge later this week on misdemeanor drug possession and battery charges. But he escaped felony charges after prosecutors reviewed video of the incident, Riverside County District Attorney spokesman Ryan Hightower said.

A teenage girl accused the 42-year-old actor of pulling down her top at a restaurant in Murrieta, a city about 80 miles east of Los Angeles in mid-July. Dick was arrested by officers responding to reports of an intoxicated male. Dick is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Britney Spears will not attempt a comeback performance at this year's Video Music Awards, according to MSN. "Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year. I'm telling you officially and unequivocally," Ryan Seacrest read in a statement from Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph, on his radio show on Monday.

The report said that Rudolph told Seacrest that Spears is "in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and was never supposed to perform at the show," Seacrest said on his radio show. Rumors had been surfacing of a possible performance for a few weeks and were fueled even more after Spears appeared in promos for this year's show with Russell Brand.
